Ecodesign Teaching Resource

EDC is working in partnership with course leaders and senior lecturers from the four universities to develop a teaching resource on ecodesign and sustainable development. This process has allowed both the lecturers and EDC to build upon existing knowledge and refine activities. The resources are being developed to allow for integration with existing curricula and teaching programmes.

The teaching resource covers a broad range of topics including:

• sustainable development
• environmental and social drivers of innovation
• life cycle thinking
• ecodesign tools and strategies
• environmental product policy

The resources are primarily composed of text, images and graphics (discussion starters), key quotes, industry supported case studies, videos and web-links. Each slide is supported by notes for tutors and students. There are also a number of suggested studio based activities and exercises.

Case Studies

EDC is compiling a library of Welsh case studies to showcase good practice in ecodesign. The list is currently quite small but we hope it will grow as we hear about more examples!
