EDC run a workshop at the KaosPilots “White Week” in Denmark (5-9th October)

Kaos Pilots is an international school of new business design and social innovation based in Aarhus, Denmark. They provide an action based entrepreneurial education for young entrepreneurs and project leaders. In 2007, Business Week listed the Kaos Pilots among the top 60 design schools in the world.

EDC were invited to participate in “White Week”, the Kaos Pilots’ annual mini-conference that includes inspirational learning through lectures, workshops, theory, dialogues, open forums and exploration. These invited lectures were given by experts in the fields of creativity, social enterprise & innovation, business, sustainability, leadership, creative industries, art, architecture and ecodesign. All of which will be highly relevant for the students and their upcoming internships and final projects.

The theme of this year’s White Week was design and Simon O’Rafferty ran a workshop on the role of design thinking in the context of sustainable development. This workshop introduced the principles of ecodesign and design thinking. It also unpicked some of the current issues of ecodesign and life cycle thinking. It also explored the role design thinking could play in different context such as community development and social innovation.
