Wales Innovation Award Launch 2010
15th April Miskin, Wales
The Ecodesign Centre attended the Wales Innovation Award launch recently, which is now in its 3rd year. In the words of Vincent Kane, the founder of the Wales Quality Centre (http://www.walesqualitycentre.org.uk/), they are looking for “capable, profitable leading edge companies that stay in Wales”. The launch included thought provoking presentations by Vincent Kane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Kane) and Laurence Hallett (http://lawrencehallett.com/) and an overview of the award process. They were keen to stress that the award categories are only a guide, they are happy to help with any queries, and you can enter as many discrete innovations as you like (http://www.walesqualitycentre.org.uk/innovationaward.htm). So please apply and contact them directly if you need further information.
As an added bonus the Welsh Assembly are considering putting together a booklet of Wales 100 top innovators, on the back of the 1st 3 years of the competition.
The Ecodesign Centre are currently exploring knowledge sharing opportunities with the Wales Quality Centre who aspire to create an innovative Welsh society. Along with the Innovation Award they also run the Wales Quality Awards and the Inside Welsh Industry programme.
