Greengaged: The Materials Behind Sustainability

Dr Frank O’Connor, Ecodesign Centre (EDC) attended the morning session of ‘The Materials Behind Sustainability’ event, hosted by the Design Council on behalf of Greengaged and the London Design Festival.

The highlight was an interesting and thought provoking debate about the role of PVC as a sustainable material, although the panel of experts ‘for PVC’ far outnumbered those ‘against’, which was very surprising, particularly considering some of their questionable arguments and the well documented environmental concerns associated with PVC.
