Glamorgan University Student Placement at EDC

Glamorgan University are beginning a programme of student placements for all levels of students. They have discussed a first year student placement with EDC and have assigned Jordan Murphy as the student who is taking up the exciting position.

The placement will run for a six week period starting on 21 April 2008. During the placement, Jordan will be based at EDC’s office, or occasionally in the installations of Glamorgan University. It is expected that the placement will give the student some sensitisation to a real working environment while benefiting EDC with some developmental research.

General activities for the placement will be based around research/ exploratory work on ecodesign related topics. Focus will be giving to ecodesign state of the art, database development for ecodesign materials resource, ecodesign resource Web 2.0 platform as well as ecodesign images. Alongside this the student will develop and undertake a survey to find out how data is stored, accessed and shared by HE students.
